I had a gate on the side of my house that had a small latch that didn't always fully close. This would allow my dog to leave the yard and explore the area. I needed something that, once locked, would be closed and never opened again. So when I saw it, I ordered it. Here's what I found: 1. First off, this bar is MUCH bigger and stronger than the original bar! I had to adjust the gate a bit so it had enough room to fit without friction.2. The design of this latch is such that there is no rebound or partial locking which can then open. When it closes, it locks, that's all! 3. Due to the latch design, you can control the latch on both sides of the gate! Not just on one side, and with them you play games and try to tighten the rope to open the latch! 4. Hope is eternal, even for dogs. My dog now jumps off the gate but does nothing as the latch is held tight. This latch can be easily closed with a padlock for security. I would highly recommend this latch to anyone who has a gate that needs a latch that really works every time!
