Review on πŸ‘ Van Aken International Kato Polyclay Review: A Comprehensive Look at the 12.5 oz White Clay by Dawn Fischer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not a bad product, but TERRIBLE COUPLES!

Overall everything is fine with this product. Good quality polymer clay at an affordable price. Slightly harder than the clays commonly used, but a bit of mineral oil softened it just enough for my liking. The colors blended well and I found I liked the firmer consistency as I'm still a beginner and the firm texture meant I could rub unfinished pieces with clumsy hands and they didn't warp. absolutely unbearable! The smell is not much different from inflatable pool toys that have just been taken out of the box. It's not strong enough that you can smell an opened package across the room, but working it that close to your face for an extended period of time can get pretty nasty. I'm already sensitive to chemical fumes, so after about an hour of mixing and conditioning I got a headache. Having a fan nearby to circulate the air helped a little, but not much. This brand also cooks at a different temperature and time than most other brands, so it can be difficult to fit into an existing collection. clay for you. But personally I think the quality and smoke isn't worth saving a few bucks for.
