Closes badly, bolts break.

This is a combined review of the Ruff Weather Dog Door and Wall Extension Kit. We've had it installed for about 2 months now. I noticed bubbles of color around the bottom inner hole today. I poked around in it and the drywall was wet and soft. I started taking it apart but two of the screws broke off when removing them. I used to have issues with the heads coming off easily, even when my impact wrench was on low settings. Screws are very soft cheap metal. Let's get back to moisture. It wasn't difficult to understand where the water came from. Any water that gets between the two valves will find its way down and flow just below the expansion price. Extensions that go through the wall snap into place and simply sit in the opening. They bear no resemblance to a seal. It wasn't very well designed. The extension should form some sort of smooth seal that can be easily caulked or capped with a gasket. I think you could use a lot of caulk for the numerous gaps around the inner perimeter. I suppose it will be messy and result in an unsightly appearance. I've taken it apart now that it's dry, but since there are two screws stuck in the outer frame I'm not sure how to put it back together.
