We're using a Headless Intel NUC on Ubuntu for some edge computing needs. When Linux starts without a display connected, the GUI service is not started by default. With this small plugin you can force the operating system to start the GUI even if no monitor is connected. We wanted the GUI to launch so a Vendor Partner could log into Intel NUC remotely via TeamViewer. You logged in and only saw a black screen because the NUC was in console mode. Of course, the provider could connect to the set-top box via SSH, but preferred to use TeamViewer and GUI navigation to perform routine system health checks. This little accessory did its job and gave you access to the console!
