Bought to replace a plastic cutting board. Overall nice. Not pretty enough to show off though. The laser engraved side is not suitable for cutting food. As a decorative element, this is fine. It's a nice gift, but laser burns are pretty patchy in depth. This is partly because some of the wood is softer than other areas, partly because the laser has been in multiple places for too long causing deeper burns. Visually it's fine. I think I understand that they want interesting shapes, so turning the (mostly) rectangular state into a trapezoid to make it look like a perspective shot is the right choice. But it's weird that they didn't make it rectangular like that. The state itself was defined as a geospheric rectangle, and on top of that there are small geodesic errors, so it surprises me that the cutting board at the top would have been much smaller. In any case. If you want to use it for cooking you have to use the back side. There are too many holes and grooves in the front to catch food. Also, unfortunately, gentle washing with mild soap will remove some of the finishing oil, making the record faded and less water resistant. In general, a good gift. Some annoying inaccuracies. Neat bamboo board.
