That worked out great on our cruise. However, this requires some experimentation! The corks were too big, but you can just reuse the cork from the bottle if part of it was uncorked. I brought a pot of water to a boil and lowered the heat to medium or just below. Then, holding the plastic wrap with a pointer, I lowered the bottle and twisted the tip to make sure the plastic cap was submerged in the water. You'll have to experiment with the rotation and how long you have to leave it, but it only took me 4-5 seconds.
