This router serves one of two purposes. 1) as a router with solid capabilities 2) as a WiFi extender, which is my use case. There are several ways to set up this device, but the easiest is to just turn it on, press the WPS button on your router (extender), and then log into your primary or main router, press the WPS button (if all Linksys) , easy integration, and within about a minute your main router (which is connected to the internet via RJ45 cable (cat5e twisted pair cable) will be detected and automation will take care of the integration of signaling protocols. The technical part and The reason I bought this router/extender is because I have installed some RING Floodlight cameras and the RING products are working fine, but I had delays when I wanted to view the RING cameras because the signal of the Main router was Pretty weak I found out because sometimes it can be because of the weak signal to connect to the camera RING has the ability the strength of the received signal. To be honest I got the hang of using this product more than I ever wanted to, but to be honest it was a lot of fun and I got it all. You need to understand what to do next. You still need to make sure that the deployed ring cameras are configured on the Wi-Fi extender network. Very important, you need to ensure that your existing network's SSID is the same network name in the extender's network configuration, just as the nodes or ring cameras you want to run through the extender are routed correctly, which means you need to configure every setting for each ring camera and make sure it goes to the extender router, otherwise the connection will always be on the source router and will NEVER go through the extender to your main router. That's exactly what you have to do. I hope this helps some who like me have been a bit lyrical based on the reviews but I'm a tech and please believe me this really works now I connect to the farthest ring of the 1/3 of the time camera, which is less than 5 seconds, a real improvement that can be measured as a success.
