Review on Outdoor Welcome Mats - Large Entryway Rug - Non-Slip Door Mats - Durable Rubber Doormat - Indoor Outdoor Entrance Rug - Skid Resistant Front Door Mat - Gray, 36" X 60 by Andrea Sloan

Perpetually waterlogged

So I got this big entry mat because I need one that can 1) because outside in all New England weather, 2) let water drain through without it being a big sponge, 3) be large enough for the concrete steps outside my door, 4) actually be able to wipe dirt off our feet off outside like an functional mat, 5) not slip around. I've had it for a couple months through the summer and winter seasonal changes now and it's held up outside but it's basically a massive sponge. It holds water for days and days despite being on a south-facing step that gets constant sun all day. Water does technically run through but it doesn't dry. You can wipe your feet off of mud. but your shoes are soaked when you step into your house. I thought this would be an improvement over a traditional coir welcome mat but they do the exact same thing, the only benefit using this one is this is way larger than anything I could afford in coir and color stands up better as coir will fade being constantly wet like that. It weighs an absolute ton though when it's waterlogged because of its size though, I thought I could just pick it up and let it dry on our railing but it's too heavy so it sits there waterlogged forever. If you have a covered porch or something I'm sure this would be fine, but at that point it doesn't necessarily need to be an exterior mat either so who cares. This mat definitely didn't solve my problems, still looking.

Pros
  • WIDELY USE: The mats' slightly raised beautifully woven polypropylene fabric helps to scrap off dirt, dust, grit, mud, sand, grass or snow and absorb moisture from shoe, help prevent everyday wear and tear. Heavy duty entrance rug carpet widely used for home decor, front door welcome mat and kitchen rug, floor mat, back door, laundry, living room, lobby, office, patio, garage, business, barn, living room, driveway and many more common areas!
Cons
  • The mat may not be suitable for those with mobility aids.
