I reviewed about two dozen webcams before deciding on this one based on reviews, price, functionality, and the little extras (lens cap and tripod). My laptop has a built-in webcam, which I usually cover with a piece of tape. But I no longer use this screen, instead connecting HDMI to an external 21" monitor on a desktop stand. And it doesn't have a built-in webcam (hence the need). Therefore, I particularly appreciate the presence of a lens cap. As another reviewer mentioned, you can attach it permanently with an adhesive backing. But just like this reviewer, I've also found that it sticks without it. Might do this in the future, but for now it's fine. I would like it to fit my monitor a little tighter, but that may be at least partly due to the design of my monitor. But don't vote. Most importantly, it comes with its own cute but efficient little tripod that works great. All in all a great purchase. I would recommend this to a friend.
