I have been a car mechanic for 15 years. I have used many different factory level scan tools. For single stamp work, the factory scanner is the gold standard. But if you're a homemaker or a professional technician looking for a quick fix for tasks like I/M (monitor) readiness, service reset, and various calibrations, the CReader 629 is for you. I updated the software when I received the tool because the BMS (battery) reset function was missing in the tool. After the upgrade, it was there and ready to go. I work with European cars and this tool does the reset and more for them. I just reset the service bulb on a Maserati. None of our other expensive scanning tools can do this without the possibility of a costly upgrade. I'll update this review if there are any gotchas, but so far so good!
