I bought these for accent lighting on the mantel. You are on a timer connected to a surge protector. I've had other string lights set up this way with no problems. The first few nights they were on, they would turn on and give a beautiful soft light. But one night they didn't come. I changed the timer and they don't work. I put them straight into the wall and they didn't work. They finally worked after I used my light repair tool to clear the circuit. And then we started the cycle again. I didn't troubleshoot this time, but I expect the same results. I'll probably remove them and replace them with regular Christmas lights.
