Before that, I had used the TL-727 for several years, but just recently it started smoking, overheating, and eventually stopped working altogether. Instead, I went out and purchased this model, and for some reason, I can't quite feel the excitement of making the purchase. The package is gorgeous and of high-quality, and everything that is contained within it, with the exception of the adaptor itself, is cool. To begin, I'll discuss the first thing that jumped out at me: when I first opened the package, it had a strong odor reminiscent of China, and when I pulled the adapter out of the package and held it in my hands, I heard something rattling inside of it. However, there was also a control shot: when I attached the cable to the adapter socket, I observed that it was all hanging out. After that, I connected the adapter to the PC, installed the drivers, and discovered that it catches the connection less successfully than my burnt 727 did, resulting in a greater ping. This one seems to capture all divisions at idle, but under load the connection sags to 3-4, and there were no such problems with the prior adaptor, albeit it cost two times less. My 727 caught all divisions consistently, despite the fact that my router is practically across the wall from me. In general, I am extremely disappointed, and it doesn't matter who it is, who it is, but I didn't expect such a setup from TP Linka, because I frequently use their products; nevertheless, now I need to hunt for another manufacturer.
