Summary: The first magnet knife holders I put in our kitchen were metal/plastic, and after a time, I realized that the wood ones are much nicer.Observations: This one is made of very nice Acacia.
The face plate is about 1/16" thick, and the method used to enclose the magnets (vs. going from the back).Pros: 1) Very nice wood; 2) multiple mounting options (screw, tape), both included; 3) sufficient magnet strength for most knifes.Cons: None. Conclusion: 5-stars, these are well made!
