Fire Hazard - Safety Issue

Purchased BV1901TS on December 17, 2018 for $129.49. Around August 28, 2019, it suffered a catastrophic failure. When I plugged in the device, I heard a short, unusual "hum" coming from inside the device. When I flipped the switch I heard the buzzing again and the unit smelled hot. I stood by the device and noticed that it doesn't heat the water. The unit was turned off and Bonavita was contacted through their website's warranty section, describing the problem and answering detailed questions. On September 13th, 2019 I finally heard from Bonavita (via email) and they said they would send me a new device. On September 17, 2019, I received word from FedEx that my shipment was in transit from Espresso Supply in Woodinville, Washington. September 24, 2019 I finally received the replacement device. Upon inspecting the old block, I found that all internal screw heads (heater block, circuit board, wire holders, etc.) were badly rusted. The metal water supply pipe showed signs of rust. The clamps that fastened the water pipes were also completely rusted. The connection between the heating wire and the heater burned to the point that the socket broke when touched. Remnants of metal are stuck to the connector (blade) and the edge of the blade is burnt. This unit has never been remotely submerged in water as it has only been hand cleaned. It was also descaled regularly, according to the manufacturer's recommendation. When brewing coffee, the device would be pulled out from under the overhanging cabinet to allow enough air to escape from the steam passing through the top and allowed to cool before being placed back under the cabinet. Having never bought a coffee maker of this price and theoretical value, we have made every effort to preserve it. This device worked flawlessly from the moment we first received it until it broke down. However, looking inside, one can see an obvious problem with internal moisture around the PCB and heater block, as well as the very poor quality of the internal parts used in the construction of this block. This is a definite safety/quality and fire hazard issue for the manufacturer to consider.
