This was a great product that I first saw in a YouTube video. I buy and restore old woodworking tools for use in my shop. An old iron is great and you can usually get a good deal because people don't use hand tools anymore. I had a hand plane that I soaked overnight. It was very rusty. I washed it off the next day and it looked great. The rust not only disappeared from the steel surfaces, but also cleaned the rust around the painted parts. On an old instrument, the paint tends to chip and flake off. You can repaint these surfaces, but I love the charm of flawless paint. The problem is that cracks and chips are also covered in rust and are usually difficult to clean. With Evapo Rust these areas stay clean. I've attached before and after photos, but if you look on YouTube you'll find more. And something else. This is a fairly safe product. It does have an odor and I wouldn't drink it, but you can put your bare hands in it.
