They're great. I pulled the whole carpet off the railing of my pontoon boat berth. It was cracked, leaving the rails wet, which contributed to the rotting of the boards, and the expensive material was not slippery when wet. That last point made it really difficult to launch and load the boat. I use an SUV with my 18ft pontoon boat, not a big truck, so I have to be careful not to get too far in the water. With carpet/felt material I had to strain the motor heavily to get in and out of the trailer. Not with these slicks. They were easy to install - I use them without a carpet, right on the tree. When I first loaded a boat on it (today) I was able to take a tug and then easily pull the boat onto the berths with the help of a winch. I couldn't do it with carpet, there was too much friction. I'm sold on this! I can keep my trailer from sinking which makes loading and recovery much easier. Simply leave this winch and chain connected until you are in the water to prevent your boat from slipping prematurely.
