Review on πŸ”ͺ KONOLL 8-Inch Pro Serrated Bread Knife - Forged High Carbon Steel Cake Slicing Cutter - Thunder-K Series by Scott Bailey

Solid bread knife on bread knife

Konoll is a relatively new name for cutlery. The quality of their knives is average, definitely better than normal utility or branded knives, but a step below the highest quality knives. This bread knife is good and a good representation of the brand's quality - good quality at an affordable price. This is a solid butt knife, solidly made with a riveted wooden handle. The handle is smooth and some effort has gone into making the edges of the handle smooth in relation to the tang - you cannot tell by touch where the wood ends and the steel begins (although visually it is very noticeable). The rivets are a different matter and you can definitely feel the slight ridge where the rivets meet the wood. This is not a function of attachment, but a matter of fit and finish. If it was an expensive knife it would be a big quality control issue. Most people won't notice, but I took a particularly close look at this knife. This is a very hard and stiff knife with a slight blade curvature. Since this is a bread knife, this is a positive. It's strong enough not to break if you twist it a little, and it's easy to cut straight slices with. The blade has a sharp edge with deep teeth that allows you to quickly cut even hard, crusty bread. It makes very clean cuts (provided you're careful not to saw with it like a lumberjack) on farmer's bread and also on sandwich bread. Aesthetically this is a beautiful knife. I am satisfied with this knife and would happily recommend it. It costs well and it seems very well made. My experience with him so far has been positive.
