I was trying to rescue a baby sulcata turtle that seemed to hatch normally but didn't get the right spectrum of light for a while. His shell and plastron were too soft. If I had fought him in time I might have saved the poor guy. I've been raising one next to my micropig for 7 years. They are separated. I have used these full spectrum lights for many years when rescuing "wild animals" and they are invaluable. Especially for the price.
