worked 4 months

This worked fine for 4 months, but now it doesn't recognize the USB C port. I can't set it up as a standalone monitor. The HDMI setup hangs and won't switch to a USB-C connection, which only allows the monitor to be used to mirror my laptop's screen and no longer act as a separate monitor. When I connect I get a "no input" message and a few seconds later "sleep mode" after which it turns off.
