5V input voltage for adapter
The data sheet states that the input voltage range for the adapter is 4.8 to 12 volts, which is true if you don't connect anything to the adapter port. In my experience, if you apply a voltage above 5V to the input of the adapter, you will fry both the adapter and the nRF24L01 radio.
