These are the most absorbent towels I have ever owned. After years of buying kitchen towels that NEVER completely dry my dishes, I've finally found the answer. I did what other reviewers recommended. I washed them in vinegar with no fabric softener (btw, I never knew fabric softener affects a towel's softness or absorbency - that would explain all my bath towels gone over the years). I've used them for drying dishes and picking up spills on counters or tables. Dries dishes COMPLETELY! No streaks or water stains remain. I also used them to dry my plastic chairs that I have on my porch. When it rains I usually take an old towel or rag outside to dry the chairs so we can sit on the porch. I usually had to move the chairs 3 or 4 times and even then there was still some moisture on them. Just yesterday I used one of those microfiber towels to wipe down the chairs and they dried in one go. And when I say dry, I mean dry! Not a drop, not a drop, nothing. The next day, after another rain, I went outside and found I had left the same microfiber towel on the porch. Although the towel wasn't wet, it was very damp from the night's rain. I used it again on the chairs, it was already there and lo and behold if it didn't dry the chairs completely in one fell swoop. I know it's just a towel but I'm still amazed. Incidentally, I did not notice any wear or even bleeding in the washing machine, which some alluded to in their reviews. They have been washed about 3 times since I bought them a month ago. I will never go back to plain old kitchen towels. They will be a staple in my house 'till death do us part. I highly recommend them.
