I recently bought a Carson 60-120x pocket microscope. In order to see a hand-held object, such as the edge of a knife blade, I found it too difficult to get the object into the tiny field of view and focus. I was impressed by the quality so I tried their 20x microscope. It's just as easy to use as a 10x loupe and I see a lot better. The field of view is approx. 3mm and the focusing is very gentle. When I place the microscope on the printed paper, it comes into focus when the wheel is turned fully clockwise. If I turn it fully counterclockwise, the print is best sharp when the microscope is about 2mm from the paper. I have an old pocket microscope marked 30x. I can see more details of Carson. UV light is an added benefit. it's weak
