Review on Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens - Optimized for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (New, White Box) by Vinay Kedia ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

I thought between 135mm 2.0 DC and this lens . I took this one. I was afraid that it was heavy, I would quickly get tired, etc. - but no, I quickly got used to it. The stub just compensates for the easy walking of the hands from the weight (and from the wind if you shoot in the mountains). Now I don’t notice the weight of the lens, everything is fine. But what it made sense to be afraid of was a 60% useless lens hood (I compare it with a 70-300mm tamron). Otherwise, a great lens. 4 stars in the rating - in terms of an ideal lens))

Pros
  • 1. A stub is a stub! although many write about 1/20 of a second, or 1/8 of a second, but when you shoot on the D800 hand-held . it is also useful for 1/200! 2. aperture, bokeh. 3. fast enough (but it feels like Canon's analogue is a little faster)
Cons
  • 1. The lens hood is stupid. We can say that there is no protection from hares. (sorry for comparing with Tamron 70-300mm, for 5600r, but he has a pancake, the hood really protects! and here is some kind of mockery) 2. a disadvantage arising from the merits - the rubberized front part of the lens, where the thread for the filters, can eventually play a cruel joke - wind up a polarizer for example . it sits very well on the rubber . and then you won’t be able to remove it yourself. (a friend helped me, and then not with his hands, but with a rope . he didn’t shoot with his hands, even in 4 hands) 3. the price is not happy :)
