Review on 🧼 Aoyue TY-98 Soldering Iron Tip Cleaner with Brass Wire Sponge - Waterless Solution by Gary Lucas

I've done without this for years without realizing how much I really need it. This tip cleaner makes it a lot easier to keep your soldering iron or gun clean. Prick and rub the brass sponge each time to give me a clean, shiny tip. I also very quickly poke the tip in a damp sponge to shake off any remaining oxidation. A damp sponge is required in addition to using this brass sponge - check out Pace, Inc.'s excellent soldering tutorial videos on YouTube. The holder measures approximately 3" in diameter and just over 1" tall - it looks small but is actually a good size. The fold-out handle serves as a soldering iron stand, the rim of the cup has two indentations for smaller soldering irons. The bottom of the mug has a smooth surface and the whole thing tends to slip a bit when I'm using it, so I taped a small piece of grippy rubber "pad" to the bottom to keep it secure. This is a valuable tool. keep it on a workbench or even in a tool box. This extends the life of your soldering tips.
