Rejects as much as my air stone. Why not get 2 for the price of 1? It's a little larger than I expected - maybe the size of a full dollar coin in diameter. I thought it might be a quarter size. I have a small 1.5 gallon tank so real estate is important. What I did to improvise was bury the gravel portion of the device (which you can presumably swap out for medium, and I plan on adding some ammonia chips based on another review). From there I put the decoration on top for a pretty clean look. I still do real estate, but not bad. It would be nice if they had a smaller version but hey. Good value for money and of course you can clean the sponge and reuse it over a period of time. Be sure to wash in water to preserve the good bacteria. As a disclaimer, my water is cloudy because I just installed a filter and have not done anything other than a water change up to this point. Hope this helps to solve the problem!
