Best Small Filter for Small Spaces

I paid $12 for 3 and am using ammo chips instead of the gravel that originally filled the compartments. It works perfectly in 4 directions: it supplies oxygen, a sponge filter removes ammonia, the shavings work as a biofilter.

Pros
  • Shipping was very fast
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Great filters! for fish and aquatic animals

Works great! I use them in our small fighting fish tank. I am absolutely amazed at how well they keep the water clean. You just have to make sure you submerge the filter in the aquarium and squeeze it a few times to make sure it absorbs water and doesn't float. I couldn't be happier with these filters!

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Useless functions

if you take a part and look closely at the design then the air pump is connected to a part that is completely capped through a cap inside. I was wondering how it was actually pushed through the water and it's not possible unless you remove the bottom, which you can do. There's just no guide for it. I'm not sure how well this will actually work, but I'll replace the medium with activated charcoal.

Pros
  • a handy thing
Cons
  • old

Ideal for hospital containers

*EDIT* Don't stay put! I've been using this filter in my hospital pool for 2 days and I can't seem to get the filter to stay down at all. I tried different materials and used lined suction cups. The filter keeps popping up and floating on top. I am disappointed in my purchase! Several times I had to put my hand in my hospital tank to adjust the filter. DO NOT BUY FOR HOSPITAL TANKS! Bought this filter for a hospital pool. I removed the stones from the filter and added my own filler as stones…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No performance

Get this instead of a bubbler

Rejects as much as my air stone. Why not get 2 for the price of 1? It's a little larger than I expected - maybe the size of a full dollar coin in diameter. I thought it might be a quarter size. I have a small 1.5 gallon tank so real estate is important. What I did to improvise was bury the gravel portion of the device (which you can presumably swap out for medium, and I plan on adding some ammonia chips based on another review). From there I put the decoration on top for a pretty clean look. I…
