Handles caked on dust well

I use a touchless car wash to remove dirt from the surface of my car (Mercedes SLK Cabriolet) and they had a built in wheel/hub brush that worked fairly well. About 2 years ago they removed the wheel brush option; I suspect it added extra complexity and broke a lot. The brake pads on the SLK are terrible. They're spewing tons of dust everywhere and I've seen my rims get dirtier and dirtier. I had some health issues and couldn't clean them by hand. When I came across this water powered brush I decided to give it a try. I feel better and that seems like a good option to me. I used regular wheel cleaner, rubbed the wheels for about 3 minutes and turned on the brush. I posted some before and after photos so you can see what I saw. the rims had brake dust on them for about 18-20 months. I did everything I could to get in the rims and tons of dirt came out. After about an hour of work I was done; I would say it did about 90% of what I wanted it to do. The next day I applied metal polish to the wheels to remove the residue and give them a shine. The photos show before/after only with the disc brush. Good thing: it works! It generates a decent amount of torque to drive the brush, and as long as you run the brush slowly it gets all the work done. It's pretty quiet, which is nice. It removes a lot more brake dust than I thought it would. had that is awesome. Not so good stuff: wear unkempt clothes and glasses; Splashes of water fall on your clothes and shoes. I wear glasses and that was good because I didn't want the water from the brake dust to get in my eyes. - I would like the head to be a bit longer and thinner to go deeper into the rim and around the master cylinder. - The brush head has come loose. once or twice, but that could also be my fault. All in all it took me about an hour from setup to cleaning to get rid of all four heavily soiled wheels. I'm happy with the round brush - it's reliable, works well and the brush heads seem to be holding up well. I recommend using a short stool or an inverted bucket to sit down and rest your back on. I definitely recommend it. Just don't forget to wear old clothes and goggles! I plan to make aftermarket brake rotors/pads which should greatly reduce brake dust. After that I estimate it will take 20-30 minutes to clean the wheels.
