Review on πŸ“Ά Boost Your Wi-Fi Signal with TP-Link N300 Wireless Extender and Router - 2 High Power Antennas, Access Point, WISP, 300Mbps by Barbara Zatyka ᠌

The product is usable, I expected a bit more.

In the beginning (the first half year), there were no problems at all. After only half a year of use (I had purchased it in August 2022) it started to show signs of serious failure. Wi-Fi connections were inconstantly lost, and wired Internet was interminably frustrating. When there were bugs, restarting the computer helped for a while. I had finally had enough of being in so much pain, so I took it to the SC, where they acknowledged that it was a warranty matter, and they eventually gave the money back to me. My old router, a TL-WR841ND like this one but with a D index at the end (this is the same model as this one, but with removable antennas), served me well for more than three years but eventually stopped working with the exact same symptoms as this one. In March of 2022, I purchased the exact same model for my parents, and up to this point, it has been functioning properly. It is still effective for parents as of 05/06/2022. The outcome after six years is as follows: three identical routers were purchased; one of them eventually failed; another was returned to the SC for repair; and the third is still operational.

Pros
  • Its relatively modest cost is perhaps the sole benefit it offers. There is a straightforward and user-friendly setup wizard that makes the initial configuration simple even for novice users.
Cons
  • Very lightweight; the wires help to pull it off the shelf. Wi-Fi has a low power level and a limited range; even after passing through two walls, the signal is scarcely detectable. The quality is mediocre; out of three similar routers, two of them malfunctioned.
