Great Gaming TV: TV Accessories

I bought the 65 inch version to use in my living room for PC gaming and movie/show streaming. I chose this TV because it has HDMI 2.1 on port 4 and supports 120Hz 4K. Currently, there are very few TVs that actually work as intended. Many advertise it, but if you read the reviews you'll see that it won't be supported until a future firmware update. I also chose this one over OLED because of the risk of screen burn-in. I spend hours every day with static on the screen and at this price point I wouldn't risk screen burn-in. This TV also supports variable refresh rates and is AMD Freesync compatible. Junction box that is good. It's basically a junction box that you plug all of your devices into instead of running a bunch of cables directly into your TV. This is a really nice feature that helps save cables per TV. It has 4 HDMI ports. Port 4 is the main HDMI 2.1 for gaming. You need to buy your own HDMI cables. Make sure you have HDMI 2.1 to use the gaming features. It came with a wall mount that I didn't use. It seems like a good piece of hardware. Unfortunately I can't hang it on the wall because I rent it out. Also note that the 65-inch TV has two legs, not a stand. The product image and sizing information says it has a kickstand, which is not correct. I had to buy a new TV stand as the leg spacing is about 48 inches. would not fit on my old TV stand. The picture is bright and vivid. Perfect for 4K gaming. I set up the TV and updated the firmware. I can confirm that AMD Freesync and variable refresh rate work when the TV is in gaming mode. When I'm not in game mode I get a nice crisp 60 fps, which looks good too. I have found that Game Mode can cause a slight flickering in some games. I'm not sure if additional firmware settings are required, or if it's an issue with my graphics card or the game itself. No one in my family has noticed the flickering except me, so this may not be an issue for everyone. Update: The flickering is due to the game itself. I've played several games with Game Mode enabled and this only happens on one specific game. The picture is bright, it can be seen day and night. Blacks are good. I didn't notice any blurring or image inconsistencies noted in reviews of the previous model. I am very happy with the image and with the change of color settings I am sure that the image can be adjusted to suit everyone's taste. I found the colors to be pretty accurate out of the box and left the factory settings after experimenting. It scales up to 4K and seems to handle it well. The screen copes well with glare and has a fairly wide viewing angle. I have to move sideways at a fairly sharp angle before I notice a change in image quality. Update 4/12/21: I recommend that those using a PC as their primary video source for streaming ensure Windows HDR is disabled. With Windows HDR enabled, streaming quality was terrible. I disabled Windows HDR again and noticed that the quality of my streaming video improved. For some reason, Windows HDR doesn't work well. The TV has several smart features. The only thing I've used is a firmware update. Otherwise I leave it disconnected from the internet as the TV is a glorified computer monitor. One annoyance is that since I unplugged it from the internet, the TV often tries to ask me to connect it to the internet. I suspect Samsung really wants your TV to be online for some reason. No internet connection was required to set up the TV. You can update the firmware via USB if you really want it to be always offline. It has the usual main streaming apps and Samsung has access to free streaming content. I don't use these features as my computer is much better at streaming content than any TV application. It also has an 'artistic' screensaver mode where you can download content of your choice (some of which are paid for) and I believe you can use the USB to use your own photos too. The shipping company did a good job. The work was completed and all expectations exceeded. I would buy this again. I docked the star due to incorrect information and images regarding the TV stand and feet and also because I had a flickering issue in game mode. I'll test this more with different games to see if it really is the TV, a software issue, or a problem with my graphics card. Upgraded to 5 stars due to screen flickering caused by a specific game. Update them after further use. (Updated 04/04/21) New update from 04/28/21. I still really like this TV. I've used a few of the TV streaming apps (Disney and ESPN mainly) and found them to work great. They load much faster and work better than the apps on older TVs I've used. I found that I really like the remote control. It's slim and has just the buttons you need. Everyone who has seen this TV in my living room with games and 4K content commented on how amazing it looks. I do not regret the purchase. New update from 07.06.21. At the moment this screen has about 400 hours. I love this TV. It has improved the quality of content that I enjoy more than upgrading my PC. Whether you're playing a game, watching a movie, or enjoying the fights on ESPN+, this is a great job. I would like to point out that I am not using the TV speakers and my audio comes from the One Connect Box optics and the Bose surround sound sounds great. It was easy to set up and easy to use. If possible I would give this place 6 stars.
