Update: When rearranging kennel toys and perches, I found that one of the rattles had been bitten. It is not safe to leave a bird unattended, which is unacceptable for the $15 price tag. I'm sending it back for a refund. Great toy. I bought separate rattles and balls for my kennel, and she just gets angry, throws them on the table or in an inaccessible place. This toy has much more weight, so it is engaged in this for much longer. I understand the comments that these rattles are "fragile", I don't think that's really the right word for it. The material is quite strong, I've also had rather flimsy toys in my arsenal, my kennel definitely won't break or bite off pieces. The problem is that the rattle's snap element could be firmer. The balls are removable. Here, too, my bird has not yet taken the rattle from the handle. I saw another reviewer post a photo of a rattle inserted between the bars of a cage - that's a fantastic idea, I made that, I just have an extra ball for my birdie to toss around the room can. I think they should come out with a version of the product designed to fit between the bars of the cage, maybe with a central pivot point so the rattle is the same length above and below the cage ceiling.
