Waterproof? Without doubt! Can you capture a lot? Absolutely! persistent? nope Packed a bag for a trip up north for Christmas. They did a great job and the weather was great! We got to our destination - badly unloaded and everything was dry and it was great! There was a wear hole on the back of the bag closest to the front of the truck. Luckily we had a waterproof case with us so nothing was damaged. Super expensive for him only for 1 trip. Half loaded with luggage for the way home, scampered around to get a patch or something but by the time we got home the hole was bigger and beyond repair. The bag was secured and we even used a cargo mesh on top to keep chafing to a minimum - which didn't help. Upon closer inspection, there were many holes at the bottom of the bag. Not sure if we put the luggage on the side and fastened the bag because we didn't have anything sharp. Great idea - difficult to load (especially in the rain) and enough for one ride. NOTHING got wet on the way up so that's good!
