Review on POWERTEC 71022 2 Inch Universal Router by Troy Coste

Does it fit a Triton router?

I bought this to install a Triton MOF001 router. The ad says this baseplate will fit my router but I was very disappointed after opening the package and realizing that this baseplate has no holes but lots of them and they match the holes on my original one Baseplate uses .platte in my router. LOOK AT! Remove the original base plate and you will find two almost opposite holes hidden under this base plate that line up exactly with the two holes in the new base plate. Powertec also included two screws that fit into these new holes that you didn't even know existed! I'm not sure if Powertec wanted the hidden holes in my router's base to line up that well, as it would be a lot easier to make three or four holes to match the holes in my original baseplate, but you CAN use this clear baseplate on a Triton router. You'll only have two holes in a row, but since they're almost opposite each other, you should be fine. The two screws are strong and give more than one might expect. This is a very good heavy duty base plate which I am currently using with the Powertec 71051 Routing Jig Set. Great set at a great price! I've been working with wood for over 60 years so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm using in my workshop!
