They have an aluminum ring around the steel. The standard keyless removal methods just don't work. The aluminum ring detaches and rotates before the eyelet rotates. I took my car to the dealer to have my tires changed. There was no key (long story). It took them 30 minutes with a power tool to remove the wheel lock on each rear wheel. It can't be that some fool knocked on the socket and took it off. What you ever use is pretty much useless if you don't have it. Gorilla does something similar, but the seat is much smaller and they rust very quickly.
