Doesn't stand up to too much moisture

With three small children we have quite a large area and unfortunately we waste a lot of food. These bags make it easy to compost all of our food waste, but they can fall apart if there is too much moisture in them and cleaning up that mess is NO FUN! So. I put a regular plastic garbage bag in the compost and then one of those green bags. If the green bag falls apart when I take it out, I just take the plastic bag to the compost heap and shake it out, then throw the dirty plastic bag away. It happens maybe once in ten. Otherwise the plastic bag stays on and we put a new green bag over it. It's nice to be able to compost these bags, but you definitely need an insurance policy in case they fall apart before you compost them.

Pros
  • Paper and plastic
Cons
  • No power
