Worth a little more effort

They hold up better than most other compostable bin liners I've bought, but you definitely need to replace the liner at least once a week before your soil fails (we compost most food waste and recycle everything we can, so we usually only take out the trash every 2-3 weeks). Also, the pouches will fall off the first time you throw them, but if you tie a small loop and tie it tight, it will stay fine. Durable material and affordable price. Out of the other 4-5 brands we've tried, this is our…

With three small children we have quite a large area and unfortunately we waste a lot of food. These bags make it easy to compost all of our food waste, but they can fall apart if there is too much moisture in them and cleaning up that mess is NO FUN! So. I put a regular plastic garbage bag in the compost and then one of those green bags. If the green bag falls apart when I take it out, I just take the plastic bag to the compost heap and shake it out, then throw the dirty plastic bag away. It…

Selfish Ecologist II

We are very happy with Green Earth's compostable, biodegradable bags. Since autumn 2017 we have been using Green Earth 13 liter bags in the kitchen and 3 liter bags in the bathroom. If we stuff garbage with sharp corners into bags, we risk tearing them. We ripped open the bags and stuffed too much into them. The bags still hold together well enough to pull the bag out and throw it in the bin outside. We compost separately so we don't use them for compostable products. We love the thickness and…
