They seem to have a long battery life despite only containing two NiMH AAA batteries each. Additionally, since the batteries aren't proprietary, you won't have any trouble swapping them out if they eventually go bad. , so they aren't very stable (they can tip over more easily) if you put them on edge for hands-free use. Although I find they work great if you just lay them on their back while doing this. Oh, and the main base (the one that the phone line connects to) CANNOT be wall mounted. However, the optional charging station can be wall mounted. It didn't really matter to me, just FYI.
