I wasn't sure I would like the "faux" wooden handle. but that's the BEST thing about this quality kettle. And that's a fact, the kettle heats up very quickly, even on a more moderate mode, as suggested by the manufacturer. A whistle catches my attention (the problem with the old kettle. I'll move away from the stove and won't hear the whistle, so I'll burn the kettle twice!) That won't happen with THIS kettle - it can be heard throughout the house! My only wish is for it to be RED to match my other lights (even if no one notices)! It is very beautiful and obviously well made. Thanks very much!
