Wow, how is Netgear staying in business?

I've seen a lot of comments about unsuccessful installations of this router extension, but I thought the positives outweighed the bad. Boy, was I wrong about that. Initially, the WPS method didn't get the extender to work, so I tried the manual approach, which was a complete fiasco. The first thing you will notice is that the website the guide directs you to does not match what is described in the printed guide. You end up in an infinite loop where the extender does nothing and the installation process ends up in a loop. I tried to find the ac/s phone number for Netgear but couldn't find it anywhere on their website. One of the reasons I bought this model was because it said you could call Amazon customer service for technical support. My only experience of this type of tech support went much better than I expected, so my high hopes were immediately dashed when an Amazon "tech" simply called Netgear tech support and left the call. Netgear's tech rep didn't speak English well, so after 15 minutes of trying to provide my name and email, I gave up and sent the return documentation to Amazon. I'm ordering a tp-link device and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works.
