Trust the loud alarms! When I first turned it on, it scared me to death! My husband thought it was a fire alarm while he was still sleeping in the bedroom! We had to open the scale and cut the black and red wire attached to the speaker. The noise is gone and the scale still works great. Sounds aside, I really am a cheap Libra. I don't understand why people give 5 stars. Serious. It's so cheaply built. Cheap buttons! The feeling that everything is falling apart. Obviously, humans have never had real scales before. Also, it doesn't work with fluid ounces. The only good thing is the bowl and that it works for now. Until I buy another one. I would like to return it but I threw away the packaging as soon as I received it.
