I quickly completed my front end before driving onto I-5 from Southern California to Northern California. I didn't have the luxury or time to wash my car, so I (semi-casually) put it on and hoped for the best. In retrospect, I think it would be ideal to take the time and apply as smoothly as possible. When I was driving, the easiest thing seemed to be opening the hood. A top part was blowing in the wind and I ended up removing that part fearing it would rub off my paint over time after seeing it happen to another reviewer. Overall it held up well, although I didn't apply it evenly and there were a few creases in the tape. After a 400 mile ride I saw a few spots where rocks hit and the tape ripped but my color underneath was perfect! Any bumps were below headlight level for me, but at least the tape on my hood kept a lot of bugs out. Before I bought it, I was wondering what kind of tape it was. Imagine a high quality cell phone screen protector (like the Zagg Invisible Shield) but in a huge roll. I was also concerned about residue but none were found after driving in 90+ degrees. With the conservative tape speed I used, 1 roll would probably last at least 6 or so more rides.
