I loved this as most of the items I have are IoT related. I followed the instructions (remember I work in IT and I'm a techie) to add the device when the light is flashing rapidly, which is what I did. This will stop the light and do nothing and cause a timeout. So I think it's a crappy app, the problem is you'll never get it to work - no support because it's based in China. You also need 2.4 wifi and if you use the element manually it works fine but I wouldn't pay double if the app/IoT/wifi doesn't work with it.
