Review on 🚚 Patent Pending TMS Non-Drilling 850 LB Low Profile Extendable Steel Pickup Truck Sport Bar Ladder Rack Lumber Utility Set with Mounting Clamps - 2 Bar (24'') by Andrew Walton

Improper manufacture requires drilling and bolting to assemble the frame.

Stand fits and adjusts side to side. It's only slightly vertically adjustable (about an inch or two) by flipping the bar. However, it wasn't advertised as an adjustable stand. It is durable but also very heavy. It arrived with a damaged shipping box that couldn't be reused, but the frame was undamaged. It fits Toyota Tacoma without any truck modifications. There are eight clamps that attach the trunk to the channel. When tightened, they begin to slip off. I would be concerned that the entire strut would come loose under a heavy load or a long ride. The biggest problem is that the ends of the uprights have been cut/tailored too short so when inserted into the crossbar the pre-drilled holes for the set screws that attach the crossbar to the uprights don't make contact with the crossbars, the set screw secures them so not, but is simply screwed through the vertical racks. That makes this screw pointless. A loose crossbar could just slip off. I had to drill holes in the ends of the uprights and crossbar and insert a bolt on each side to secure everything. I would have sent it back instead if it wasn't so heavy and difficult to pack and ship. I read in another review that it rusts easily. A day later I noticed some rust on some of the welds (only in my garage and not even outdoors), so I took another reviewer's advice and covered them with a clear enamel to protect against rust. The Toyota Tacoma is just under 48 inches between the pillars, so it won't fit in a 4x8 without something (I used a 2x4) to fill the space at the top. Due to the need to drill holes for mounting and the rapid occurrence of rust, I would not recommend this stand.
