Purchased to replace a similar one. It gets the job done, but I'm not very happy with the filling mechanism above. The cap should be next to impossible to turn, but this takes me a few tries to get it seated properly. But my biggest problem is the mechanism that allows you to cast. I don't like that you have to be depressed to pour it. My predecessor was a switch. I don't think I closed it for at least ten years. In this case, if you hold it open, the flow of liquid comes out terribly slowly. In order to fill my 11 ounce mug, I really have to pour it for quite a while. I think it's more suited to a milk/cream dispenser in a coffee station. There is a clear plastic gasket under the lid and I'm sure if I can snap this part off it will solve the problem. fasten directly under the handle. For me, the seal is really cross-eyed. I'm not sure if I could fix that if I took it apart, but it really doesn't affect anything, so it's not a big deal. Edit: With the help of a pair of pliers I was able to snap off the translucent plastic gasket thingy under the cap. It made things a lot better for me (though not for everyone). Now it's pouring pretty neatly and I don't have to push the lever. This obviously doesn't work for someone transporting liquid in a car or in a situation where the carafe could tip over. I don't have these problems so this is a great solution for me.
