My Canon TS 6120 always needs ink. With 3 separate color cartridges and 2 different black cartridges around the time you change one, the other starts warning you that it's almost empty. And of course they give you plenty of advance warning. Obviously Canon is selling the little 3-in-1 printer/copier/scanner so cheap because they can sell you lots and lots of expensive cartridges. OSIR allows you to have an inexpensive backup on hand so you can completely empty each cartridge (if the printer exits the warning and is unable to print) and I see no degradation in print quality. .
