If the dog is not an ESA or service animal, it is NOT airline approved. Other than that, I LOVE this carrier. It was great when we were traveling and wanted to take our five pound Yorkie with us without having to carry her around all the time. It's handy for cycling, scooters, etc. It had a strong chemical smell when it arrived, but I aired it out and now it doesn't smell anymore. The neck is adjustable and the adjustable hardware is pretty solid. There is a removable hard panel on the bottom, but we left it there so it can stand. It has an adjustable leash clip in the pocket, two open side pockets and a zippered front pocket that doesn't fit my phone but works well for bags and keys. I ordered the medium and it fits my 5 lb Yorkie perfectly.
