Merino wool socks are too thin for me. I ended up wearing them to work over old merino wool socks with holes, they looked great and breathed well. Now that the summer weather has arrived and I wear them alone, they breathe surprisingly well but offer almost no insulation. They also form pebbles on the outside of the fabric after washing. These are regular merino wool socks which are still better than the regular 10 pack crew socks as they breathe so well, rarely if ever smell after wear and you can air them out so you can wear them for days before washing.
