Ideal for separating the yolk from the white. I place the egg separator on top of the measuring cup and the separator has a slot that ensures it stays in place so you can crack the egg open with both hands. Then I break the egg into the separator and 50% of the egg white falls into the measuring cup. The other 50% want to "hang" on the yolk, so you'll have to pull and wiggle the separator until the remaining egg white falls into the measuring cup. I then discard the yolks and pour the whites into another bowl. That's all. Works well!
