I've recently started reloading ammo. Step 1 - Prepare the brass. I'm reloading 6.5 Creedmoor ammo. I have a Lyman Turbo 600 Tumbler and use it to clean brass in small batches. I didn't have a screen or anything else I wanted to use, so I dug into the walnut filler with my gloved hands, grabbed a piece of brass, and then pressed it against a vibrating rod to inject the filler into the rifle's brass. Outside. Annoying and time consuming. I decided very quickly that I needed a media separator. It looks like it's more for wet acrobatics, but it's supposed to be good for both. I was a little unsure that turning the rifle brass a few times would push the carrier out of the small hole in the rifle brass. I ordered it and Prime arrived quickly. Assembly took about 10 seconds. I sanded the brass for several hours using a walnut tool and some Nu Finish polish. He opened the blue bowl, took the cup out of the glass and poured everything into it. He closed the bullet, inserted it into the necessary slots on the body and put the lid on. (The rubber piece covering the ball is firm, but I'm not worried at all about it opening. I just pull on a corner to open it and push the rubber piece on a corner again to close it .) I rotated it both ways within 20 seconds or so. No leaks or media spills. Lid off, blue ball open, and there's my super shiny clean brass. I carefully flipped each piece and tapped to make sure all of the media inside was discarded and there was practically none! I saw maybe 1 or 2 carrier grains in all 20 pieces of brass. In the photo of the rifle case you can see a piece of beam inside the case after the fall. Worked great for removing all media from gun cases. I've made some 9mm wider neck sleeves and as expected it worked even better. Removed the brass, poured the media from the bottom of the separator back into the beaker, and I'm ready to clean some more brass. Couldn't be happier with how well it worked. I literally have no complaints. It saves me tons of time, was easy to use and didn't have any mess. Couldn't ask for much more! Highly recommended! And judging by the reviews, it's great for wet acrobatics, if that's what I'm into. But judging by how clean and shiny my brass has gotten, I don't see much need to go this route.
