Don't wait to buy one like I did!

This is AWESOME! I manually separated the brass from the corn medium in my Dillon CV-500. It sucks. It took about 15 tedious minutes to manually pick out pieces of brass. I wondered how much time that would save me. Almost everything turns out! You have to be a bit careful when pouring the brass/medium into the basket and it always pops out a tiny bit but... that's it. Once inside, the basket closes and latches and baby is in place and you're seconds away from receiving the media-free brass…

It must be when you wet the brass!

Good. Here is the result of this product. If you turn your copper wet, this is the best way I've found to easily and completely separate your medium from your copper. I've tried several homemade separators, as well as the "Shake the Towel" method and everything else available on YT. .This separator works great for me and I regret not buying it sooner. I've just flipped over 500 9mm bowls and the total time it took to rinse, separate and reinsert the support into the beaker was less than 15…

A very nice feature is the fine-mesh sieve at the top.

You've found just the thing with this product. Well built and a lot of thought has gone into it. A really nice feature is the fine mesh in the top cap so you can wash off the steel pins, but it also comes with a slight downside. After pouring the pens in, I noticed there were quite a few of them on the bottom of my sink. Luckily I had a sink plug with me as a safety precaution when I first used the product or they would have gone down the drain. At first I thought the screen was broken, but…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some difficulties

This is exactly what it claims to be. Works like most dry separators and allows the same unit to be used with wet drums. Sounds great and would be if there weren't some design flaws that are quite annoying to use. First, everything is made out of fairly thin and flexible plastic and looks and feels cheap. The only solid part is the basket which you can twist to flip it over and it has such a strong rubber clasp that I have a hard time opening and closing it every time. The entire latch assembly

  • Fits many

Great for the task

The separator works as it should but has some flaws that are to be expected (which is why it still deserves 5 stars). It was designed to separate steel pins or dry materials from brass after cleaning and I have to say it does it flawlessly. However, the disadvantages to consider before buying are: 1: very noisy when the brass tumbles (brass sounds like a wet glass but without water to muffle the noise. 2: it's quite bulky when you it doesn't have a workbench dedicated to reloading (also a plus…

Works great with dry items

I've recently started reloading ammo. Step 1 - Prepare the brass. I'm reloading 6.5 Creedmoor ammo. I have a Lyman Turbo 600 Tumbler and use it to clean brass in small batches. I didn't have a screen or anything else I wanted to use, so I dug into the walnut filler with my gloved hands, grabbed a piece of brass, and then pressed it against a vibrating rod to inject the filler into the rifle's brass. Outside. Annoying and time consuming. I decided very quickly that I needed a media separator. It
