After years of reading about this stuff I finally bought some with the intention of just removing rust from metal parts. In fact most reviews are correct as it removes oxidation/rust. for a prompt discount. (If you soak it for a good 12 hours) The only weird thing is that when you take it out it gets sticky and has a lot of friction properties. Some of the rust removed leaves a black film on the bare metal underneath, which isn't a bad thing, but doesn't offer much protection against sudden rust. This stuff does what is advertised. Just make sure you clean and paint the part afterwards to the point where the rust stain is combated.
